I am a qualified and accredited counsellor and cognitive behavioural psychotherapist. I have been a practising as therapist since 2011 and I have over 8 years of experience of delivering psychological therapy. I currently work in the NHS as a counsellor and CBT therapist for IAPT in Manchester. I work with a wide range of issues and I always focus on you as an individual. Each person is unique, and I do not work in a “one approach fits all” method. I listen to you, get to know you as a person and we work together to make sure the treatment plan is exactly right for your needs.
The focus of the therapy is always on you the individual, who you are and what you need. I have no agenda or stake in the outcome and my only aim is to help you and to help you feel better. I want to help you to get the results you desire and to help you live the life you want. My therapeutic work is underpinned by person centred philosophy, which is based on the relationship between the client and the therapist and I will remain non-judgmental, empathic and genuine. I am extremely passionate and dedicated to my work with an open and honest approach towards my clients. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is an integral component to effective therapy.
I am also solution focused and I want you to get well and stay well, therefore I incorporate practical solutions using CBT. CBT helps you discover more effective, beneficial coping strategies for your individual needs and will help you think about your issues differently in order to help manage problematic behaviours. I will, along the way, be teaching you how to “become your own therapist” so that when you leave, you will have the knowledge and tools you need to stay well and be able to better manage your mental health.
