What is Counselling?

thinking[1]Counselling is basically a relationship, between two people, but unlike other relationships a counselling session will be almost entirely about you, the client.  Counsellors offer a safe and confidential environment to enable you to gain more insight and understanding, or perhaps work towards solving a problem.  Counsellors do not give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, they offer conditions where you can work together to find a way forward.

Counsellors will not judge you, and a lot of the work they do involves listening, but they are also actively involved in helping you reveal new understanding about yourself, spotting patterns you may have missed, and helping you break habits of thinking and feeling that are not very helpful to you.

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact one of our counsellors here at central Manchester Counselling.
